Saturday 8th August saw the annual meet for our U11 athletes in memory of Dave Parsons. Dave was an integral part of the FUNdamentals coaching team for many years until he sadly passed away in February 2021. To ensure we keep Dave's legacy alive all U11 athletes from the club are invited to enter the annual completion which follows the usual Quad Kids format of 75m, long jump, 600m and vortex throw.

This year's event was a huge success with 42 young athletes from the U11 group competing, many of whom had only recently joined the club and were competing for the first time. There was lots of standout performances and Personal Bests ('PBs') beat during the day and all athletes did not only themselves but their families, coaches and most importantly Dave's memory proud. Results attached.

Events like this cannot happen without lots of help from parents and volunteers, without people giving up their time to ensure all throws, jumps and runs are measured and timed correctly we would not be able to give the children the opportunity to compete. On behalf of the club a huge thank you to everyone that made the day so much fun for our young athletes.

True to Dave's spirit, we'll be running another one in mid–March 2023.
