February has seen some outstanding performances in Cross Country (across many ages), on the road, some excellent field events (unusual for this time of year) and Indoors. There has also been an enormous amount of miles travelled by coaches and parents to many of these events, Sheffield, Exeter, Cardiff, London, Scandinavia, It’s always good to see that sort of commitment rewarded with seeing athletes perform to the best of their ability.
It’s indoors that sees my February member of the month. The National Indoor Championships (U15 & U17) were in Sheffield. In amongst some excellent performances by Swindon Harriers athletes, Elliot Cox managed to break two personal bests in the 60m Hurdles and the 400m, the 400m PB he smashed by two seconds, which to say the least is a lot for indoors. But to manage to make the finals of both events is a super achievement and Elliot is my member of the month for February.
