I have decided to give the April award to Holly Scott. In April Hollys’ achievements were numerous. She began the month by throwing the Hammer a club record 51m in the Hammerfest in Telford, (although an U17, this would also be a club record for U20 and senior ladies), following that with a victory the following day at the Mark Cawte open meeting, with another 51m throw. She also ran a PB in the 80m that day.
She won the Birchfield Harriers open on the 13th April and was 2nd in the Paul Dickenson classic in Eton on the 19th. To compete the month she competed for the club in our first Wessex League, despite there not being a Hammer, she won the A string U17 hurdles in a PB (an excellent PB for a hammer thrower in the top 10 in the country), also won the Discus, was second in the shot and was then part of the winning relay team.
A busy and successful April for Holly.
