Tri Counties XC Champs Report

A strong team from Swindon Harriers travelled to Bath University to take part in the Tri-Counties Championships – incorporating the Wiltshire Championships, coming home with medals and selection for the Wiltshire Teams at the South West Championships early next year.

Patrick Mochan retained his U17 Title, with a very dominant run, finishing well ahead of his rivals, backed up by his younger training partner Jack Gunning, who was having easily his best performance of the winter with a very solid 4th place.

Lavinia Rai also had her best race of the season, with a strong run over the closing stages to gain Wiltshire Selection, with Ayla Tonkin and Lucy Spencer also acquitting them selves well and gaining selection.

Josh Burns again ran well to earn the Bronze Medal in the U15B race, while Kelly Marie–Marsh went one better over the 3.8km to bring home the silver medal.

In the U13 girls – Swindon Harriers enjoyed a clean sweep – with Ella Spencer taking 1st , Maisie McCalla 2nd and Freya Davidse 3rd.

In the U13 boys Samuel Rai ran a well judged race to finish 5th, Thomas Nicholls gave all he had on the day to squeeze into the top 10.
