Oxford Mail Cross Country League, Round 2

54 Harriers competed at Round 2 of the Oxford Mail XC League on Sunday 1st of September, producing another round of good and promising results.

For the first time in many years the Harriers ladies turned up in numbers and were led home by Lucy Fitzpatrick, making her Harriers debut over the country, she was backed up in the A team by Charlotte Wilton and Felicity Webb (another Harriers debutant). Also making their XC debut was Kerry Snell, dropping down from the longer distance stuff who pushed Amanda Mann all the way to the line. It would be remiss not to mention Harriers stalwarts Pauline, Lily and Val also competing for the Harriers.

The senior men continued their domination of the league with our 7 home in the top 27, Ben Cole led the way followed by Simon Byrne and Courteney Chessell, a notable mention to the returning Andy Fulford making the A team in 27th place.

The youngsters also produced some good results, Jesse Bryant leading the Harriers home in a creditable 3rd in the Under 9 race, 2 Scott’s (Holly & Indie) sandwiched Nieve Corcoran in the Under 11’s, the Under 11 boys were led home by Alex Leak in 6th overall in his 1st race of the season.

Khaya Swaine led the Under 13 girls home in 6th with Meg and Bella leading the team to 7th on the day, James Bagot finished 2nd on the Under 13 boys race with Anubis Molina-Vazquez and Arthur Widdows making up the team which was 7th on the day.

The Under 15/17 girls were led home by Amber Dennis with Josie and Evie also competing, a strong performance from the Under 15/17 boys saw them overall 2nd for the team with Fletcher, Jack and Archie being the first 3 home, Issac Mould, another Harriers debutant led the B team home followed by Harrison and Jamie.
