End of Season YDL report

Saturday saw the last YDL meeting of yet another very successful season.

For the 3rd year running we have won the league and Saturday saw us compete in the promotion/Relegation play off match against the bottom 3 teams in the Premier plus the 4 teams including ourselves who had either won or come runner up in the regional leagues.

We produced our performance of the season and came agonisingly close only to miss out by a mere 8 points which is the equivalent of a couple of race/jumps or throws wins. So close, a really great effort by all the team, you should feel really proud of your achievements this season.

Throughout the season we comfortably won every one of our league matches due to some great individual performances but equally due to the fact the time after time one of the youngsters stepped in and competed in an event outside of their comfort zone for the good of the team rather than their own individual gain, that’s what team sport is all about.

Selecting the team gets increasingly difficult due to the amount of very good and committed youngsters we now have at the club which is great but requires a little patience on all our behalf.

A huge thanks to all the parents for supporting the youngsters.

To all of our officials who do a fantastic job and earn us points they really are a group of unsung heroes.

Last but not least Mel who has the nightmare of dealing with about 100 emails per match, she has been an absolute star.
