Another YDL win
Last Saturday saw us travel up to Worcester for our 2nd YDL match of the season.
Yet again it was a beautiful day and despite quite a number of the team feeling unwell we managed another victory which cemented our place at the top of the table with one league match to go.
For the under 15s boys victories were secured by Harry Cunningham (1500m) , Bo Long (hurdles) Lucas Simpson (both long jump & Pole Vault B string) and Harry Rickets and Dan Smith on debut who were both winners of the Hammer with Harry's throw of 47.34 a new club record the winners were backed up by a string of 2nd places which built the foundation for our points total.
Under 15 girls as usual put in a great set of results with last years Athlete of year Delleah Belgrave winning both the 100 and 200m. Further wins for Amy Warren in both LJ and HJ (B string) , Lauren Pawson (B string Hurdles) and Issy Imeson in the shot who's throw of 9.18m was an U15G club record.
The U15G produced a couple of performances of the day with Kelly Marie Marsh clocking 2.24 for 800m a staggering 5s PB, followed by Lavina Rai running 5.05 for 1500m which was a 3s PB.
U13B winners were Fletcher Hart in both 800m and Javelin along with club stalwart Jack Choules who was victorious in the B string shot put.
Lastly our U13G did a fantastic job in accumulating points from what ended up a bit of a threadbare team. Freya Davidse continued her current superb form by winning the 1200m in 4.12 with Sophie Imeson having a great day in winning both the LJ and the shot. Further success from Hannah Lewington and Katie New who won the Javelin A and B string respectively.
It was a tough day in the heat but yet again another great performance as the team which resulted in victory 35 points.
The team are now well on track to secure a place in this seasons promotion playoff match.
Next match is a Wessex league match at Woking on June 10th.
