U11 success at the Brewer Games

Brewer Games 2018 Quad Kids U11 Results

A competition open to all, the Brewer Games took place in glorious sunshine at Cheltenham on Sunday 6th May. Nine of our FUNdamentals young athletes entered and put in some outstanding performances, including an overall 1st place plus a 3rd, a 4th and a 5thin class.

Top congratulations go to Jonathan Dumbutshena, a Year 4 athlete who took overall first place with an 11.0 second 75m (fastest on the day), a 2 minutes 1 second 600m, a long jump of 3.74m and a Howler throw of 24.7m.

Not to be out–done, Laila–Jae Belgrave took 3rd place for the Girls, aided by the longest long jump on the day of 3.83m, and Ella Spencer finished a full 4 seconds ahead of her nearest rival to complete a 600m in a sensational 1 minutes 54 seconds. Esme McKenzie (2 min 6 secs) and Sam Gregory (2 mins 9 secs) made it a great 600m day for our athletes.

And Sam Gregory achieved the 3rd–best throw on the day with a great Howler throw that measured 28m.

To round off a great day from a relatively small group of Swindon Harriers representatives, in Sprint four of our athletes ran sub–12 seconds: Jonathan, Laila–Jae, Ben Langfield and George Mann.

Congratulations to all of our Harriers – great performances!
