Quad Kids Report

Well, it was a case of so nearly. The Quad Kids (under 11s) squad did so well, setting a club record on Sunday of 1,697 points along with three new club records (Fin Keating in the Vortex Throw (40.05m), Sam Rai in the 600m (1 min 53.1 secs) and the Boys squad with 884 points), however it wasn't quite enough to take the League title.

Woking managed 1,743 points in their 3rd round match and followed that up with an amazing 1,745 points in Round 4, so there can't be any complaints; worthy League winners.

Our own team did amazingly well to finish second (in a League of 24 clubs and agonisingly just 14 points off first place), especially when you consider the club only started an U11 competition squad in 2013 and finished well down the table in our first year. We also should not overlook the fact we were relocated twice away from the track for extended periods during the last ten months, which makes this year's squad's achievements that bit more impressive. Each and every one of our young athletes should feel very proud to have played their part and for those moving up to Foundation, are giving the coaches in that group real hope for the future with expanding our talent base.

Overall, the Boys finished in fifth place (their highest ever finishing position) and the Girls finished in third place.

Well done to everyone involved this season: the athletes, the coaches and of course those all-important chauffeurs, the parents.
