SW Schools Combined Events and British Masters
Ben McIntyre represented Gloucestershire Schools U17B in his first Octathlon at Yeovil on 24/25 June.
His tally of 4,051 points included PBs in javelin, 100m hurdles, high jump and shot put, along with a whopping 774 points in 1500m, the last event.
His 3-boy team finished in 1st place in the South-West Schools Combined Events Championships giving them automatic qualification for ESAA Combined Events Finals in September. Their 12,949 points is the highest ever by a Gloucestershire team in the South-West Championship and is in fact the highest achieved across all six ESAA regions in these championships.
British Master Track and Field Championships
Competing in the M60 age group Ken Jackson took the gold medal in the Long Jump at the British Masters Championship on Saturday 24th June at Birmingham.
