Quad Kids Girls Cried "House!"
A successful U11 Quad Kids tournament for Swindon Harriers on Sunday 4th June at Bournemouth. The Girls team had a squad member come first (out of 49 girls from 6 clubs around the Wessex Athletics League) in each of the 4 events: 75m, 600, long jump and vortex (Nerf Howler) throw. No surprise therefore to find out that the Girls team won their competition.
The Boys side also produced some strong performances, coming 3rd in their competition. Notable performances included James Bagot's 1 min 57.5 for the 600m and James Kyeremeh smashing the Swindon Harriers' U11 Boys 75m record by a whole half-second, in a time of 10.7 seconds.
Overall the combined Quad Kids squad finished in 2nd place, narrowly missing 1st place by just 4 points (equivalent to one of the club's 20 children running a 600m just 3 seconds faster).
A great effort today against some strong opposition and we look forward to our next meeting in early July.
