Last Saturday saw the latest round of the Club Invitational Winter Throws with athletes from nine clubs competing.

Our athletes acquitted themselves very well -

• In the Under 17 Mens Hammer Josh Ricketts set a new club record with a throw of 40.29 metres breaking the previous record set in 1998.
• Although missing the existing Under 17 Mens Heavy Weight Pentathlon Record by 25pts scoring 2272 Josh beat the existing Under 17 Mens Heavy Weight Triathlon Record by 59 points with a score of 1696 points.
• Ben McIntyre just missed out on a club record in the Lightweight Throws Triathlon by 6pts with a score of 1,149pts.
• And proving to be the star athlete of the day was Hannah Lewington – competing for the first time as an U13 in the Javelin – and throwing 23.42 Metres breaking a record set back in 1998. This ranks her as No. 2 in the Country at this early stage.

The next round of the series is on Saturday 25th February.
