About Road Running
The club aims to promote all forms of road running, from structured training to racing short and long distances (5k to marathon) across a variety of terrain. See our Fixtures page for details of events near to Swindon.
These races may raise money for local charities, schools or fund running clubs to stage such events. Races within a 30 mile radius of Swindon are given a higher profile by the road race co-ordinator, in an effort to ensure we perform well in team events as well as across the board in general support.
The club has a wide range of running abilities from elite to novice. All have benefited from the race experience, providing a focus for their own training and a chance to meet runners from other clubs. “Road Running” is not separate division; many runners also take part in cross country and track racing.
London Marathon
The club has a (very) few reserved places for the London Marathon, which are available through a ballot each year. It is best to enter through the normal procedure first.
