Keeleigh Chapman - Success at the National Indoor Championships
Following success at the Bath Open Meeting on Saturday 20th February where Keeleigh set a pb over 60mH of 9.48 in winning her age group she performed even better this weekend at the National Indoor Championships in Birmingham.
Coming 2nd in her heat in 9.44 (another pb) she progressed to the semi final. Here again she finished 2nd in another pb of 9.37 sec.
In the final with nothing to lose she ran her best race ever, running a time of 9.25 sec – 3pbs in one day.
When considering that 9.24 sec was the time of the 2nd and 3rd placed athlete, Keeleigh was that close to as medal. Still a very good indoor season and a time that will probably rank her 4th in the UK.
