Cross Country - Wiltshire Schools and South of England Results
Our younger cross country athletes have had a busy time recently with the Wiltshire County Schools XC at Grittleton School on Saturday 21st January and the South of England XC Championships at Brighton on Saturday 28th January.
Wiltshire Schools
Good performances with the following results;
Junior Girls – Charlie George (5th), Samantha Reeves (14th), Freya Jamieson (23rd) and Isobel Hartley- Smith (28th).
Inter Girls – Lillie Bellamy (2nd), Maddie Perrins (4th), Carla Huynh (5th), Emma Pietek (6th), Georgia Akerman (19th) and Rhianna Jones (31st)
Minor Boys – Nathan Huynh (9th)
Junior Boys – Callum Bampton (1st) and Jed Stacy (10th)
Inter Boys – Will Ballard (2nd), Ciaran Cooper (3rd), Joe Grant (9th) and Josh Gray (11th).
Senior Boys – Nyle Clinton (2nd) and Matt Raymond (4th)
Many of these athletes go on now to the South West Schools XC Championships on Saturday 4th February at Exeter.
South of England XC Championships
Again there were some excellent performances in the regional championships at Brighton –
Under 15 Girls – Maddie Perrin (59th) and Charlie George (72nd), good performances from both girls in their first run at this level.
Under 17 Girls – Liilie Bellamy (18th) – strong run from Lillie making up three places in the latter stages of the race.
Under 17 Boys – Nyle Clinton (9th) – in contact with the leading pack until the eventual winner broke away, stayed in contact with the rest finishing strongly.
